Where to Stay

Stay in the middle of the action in Western Sydney, the city’s adventure hub. For ultimate convenience you can stay right at Sydney Olympic Park – the Ibis, Pullman and Novotel are all just a short walk away from Ken Rosewall Arena. You’ll find more budget accommodation a little further west in Parramatta, along with a melting pot of sport, food and culture to explore. Book a night at Nesuto Paramatta Apartment Hotel if you want affordable self-contained studios and one- or two-bedroom apartments.

You can also base yourself in Penrith, close to a range of epic activities from go-kart racing to indoor skydiving and jetpacking above the water. Treat yourself to a night at the Pullman Sydney Penrith, a five-star hotel attached to local icon, the Penrith Panthers Precinct.

Things to See and Do

The ride doesn’t stop after you leave the arena – Western Sydney has plenty to keep the good times rolling.  Choose your own adventure – fly like a superhero indoors with iFly indoor skydiving, hit the rapids at Penrith Whitewater Rafting Stadium, jetpack through the air over water with Jetpack Adventures, or swing through the trees on a zipline at Treetops Adventure Park. If you’re with a crew – challenge your mates to a few laps around Sydney Motorsport Park with Eastern Creek Karting or spend an afternoon in one of Western Sydney’s best escape rooms – Labyrinth in Parramatta will have you breaking out of an asylum, cartel or circus; while the Escape Bus in Penrith is an immersive adventure on four wheels!

Where to Eat and Drink

With delicious eats from all around the world and an unbelievable street food scene, Western Sydney is one of Sydney’s top spots for a feed. Just a short drive from Sydney Olympic Park, Strathfield is where those in the know go for Korean food, or head to Burwood – Sydney’s second Chinatown – with street stalls selling a wildly diverse range of snacks like lamb skewers or fried flatbreads, as well as a neon-lit arcade full of noodles, hot pot and desserts. Or head to Harris Park in Parramatta to find Sydney’s Little India and get stuck into a curry or two.

Western Sydney’s nightlife goes off – if you’re feeling bougie, check out Nick and Nora’s – a rooftop bar with an impressive line-up of whiskey, Champagne and cigars. Beer lovers will want to check out Riverside Brewhouse or Rusty Penny. Hit the d-floor at clubs like The Albion Hotel or El Patron.
