SLS Is Coming to Brasília for the Next Spot Takeover

Brazil’s Federal Capital will receive for the first time the world's elite street skateboarding on July 13, in an event valid for the SLS Championship Tour 

Free, SLS Brasília Takeover presented by Banco do Brasil will bring the new Spot Takeover format to the country for the first time, with a course set up on the Esplanade of Ministries.

This is the first time that Brazil will host two stages of the SLS Championship Tour in the same year. In December, the country will receive the SLS Super Crown World Championship for the fourth consecutive year.

Brazilian skateboarding fans will have a new opportunity to watch live the tricks of Rayssa Leal, Felipe Gustavo, and other big names in Street League Skateboarding, the world's leading street skateboarding league. The SLS has announced that Brasília will host a stage of the SLS Championship Tour on July 13. It will be the first time that Brazil’s Federal Capital will host the event, which will be held on the Esplanade of the Ministries. 

With free access to the public, SLS Brasília Takeover is presented by Banco do Brasil, a historic supporter of the Brazilian sport, and inaugurates the new Spot Takeover format in the country, a Best Tricks competition where skaters will have seven opportunities to perform their best tricks, with the three best scores being computed for the final result, with the highest possible score being 30. In the case of a tie in the final score, the skater with the highest individual trick score wins. The course, which will be built by the renowned California Skateparks, will have its obstacles donated to organizations that use skateboarding as a tool for social transformation

It will be the first time that Brazil will host two SLS Championship Tour events in the same year. In December, the country will receive the SLS Super Crown World Championship for the fourth consecutive year - the third in a row at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in São Paulo.  In the last three editions of the event on Brazilian soil (Rio de Janeiro in 2022; São Paulo in 2023 and 2024), the public followed the hegemony of Rayssa Leal, who became the only female skater to win the SLS Super Crown three times. Among the men, the champions were Portuguese Gustavo Ribeiro (2022), Brazilian Giovanni Vianna (2023) and American Nyjah Huston (2024). Brazil hosted the Super Crown for the first time in 2019, in São Paulo, when Brazilian Pâmela Rosa won the world title.

The SLS Brasília Takeover is presented by Banco do Brasil, with sponsorship from Monster Energy Drink, Dios Azúl Tequila, 10X Health and Tech Deck, support from True Skate and institutional support from the Federal Government's Ministry of Sport, through the Sports Incentive Law. The event is organized by AEESB - Associação Educacional Esportiva e Social do Brasil.
